DESCRIPTION

Bichat bags, also known as BAGs, are accumulations of fat in the cheeks that can give the appearance of a rounded or bulging face. Surgery to correct Bichat bags involves the removal of a portion of these fat pads to achieve a slimmer facial contour.

The procedure to correct Bichat bags is usually performed under local anesthesia and can take anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour. The surgeon will make small incisions on the inside of the cheeks and remove a portion of the Bichat bags. The incisions are then sutured and a soft bandage is applied to the area.
