Reduction mammoplasty is a plastic surgery procedure performed to reduce the size and improve the shape of the breasts in women with excessive breast hypertrophy. During surgery, excess breast tissue, fat and skin are removed to reduce the size of the breasts and improve their shape and position. Nipple and areola reconstruction may also be performed to improve the final aesthetic appearance.

Recovery time varies depending on the amount of biopolymers removed, the location, and the patient’s overall health. After surgery, it is normal to experience swelling, bruising and soreness in the treated area.

After surgery, bandages and a special bra are applied to help minimize swelling and discomfort.
